The fourth annual Diversity Day brought together the sights, sounds, and flavors of Michigan’s diverse communities during the Embracing Our Differences Michigan Diversity Day Celebration. This free community event welcomed a record-breaking 300 attendees of all ages to experience the beauty of cultural expression through art, music, dance, and food.
A Celebration of Culture Through Music & Dance
Guests enjoyed a variety of ethnic music and dance performances, featuring:
- Bichini Bia Congo drummers and dancers
- Ann Hua Chinese School presenting “Green Shoots Beneath the Moon”
- Little Bands
- Ypsilanti Youth Choir
- Michigan Lion Dance Team
- Ballet Folklorico Mexico Lindo
Fashion Show & Cultural Food Tastings
A special fashion show highlighted original hand-designed and handmade clothing by local artists. Attendees also savored diverse cultural food tastings that represented the rich flavors of Michigan’s communities.
Supporting Local Non-Profits
Forty non-profit organizations showcased their missions and shared their resources with community members, creating valuable connections and highlighting the collaborative spirit that makes this celebration possible.
